A Celebration of Movement, Training & Running.
Less of a race, and more of a summer long scavenger hunt.
100 days, 30 challenges, endless fun.
Open to anyone, anywhere, a worldwide event.
We’re hoping to make your summer just a little more fun and active as we celebrate movement, training & running!
You can make this challenge as wild and social, as challenging and difficult as you’d like, or you can keep it low key and just use it to approach your summer fitness goals with some variety.
The Summer Scavenger Hunt is on for 100 days until September 16, 2020 (EXTENDED to Sept 23 @ midnight due to smoke), and registration remains open until Aug 10 @ 7am PST, so there’s still plenty of time to join.
Open to runners, hikers and walkers worldwide. Leaderboard that doesn’t reward speed as much as dedication & creativity. Each unique challenge has a minimum run time associated with it, with most listed as a minimum 35 – 45 minutes, and the highest minimum workout time is just 60 mins. We’ve designed this challenge to be friendly and attainable by everyone. Completing the challenges awards you points, as well as “bonus points” available with some challenges. Maximum number of attainable points is 1000 and this will be accomplished via the aforementioned creativity and dedication, instead of simply being based on foot speed.
This is also about community, giving back and making small contributions in our part of the world. CMTR has always made it a priority to support local Search & Rescue and trail organizations, and last year we surpassed $65,000 in donations. But without most of our events happening this year, we weren’t sure how we could maintain that support. So, we’re aiming to boost our fundraising efforts by donating $10 from every registration for this event to our three key local trail maintenance partners – NSMBA, SORCA and WORCA. Additional donations welcome, of course!
The CMTR Summer Scavenger Hunt also compliments just about every other virtual race out there, meaning if you’re already signed up for something else (say GVRAT), this compliments it entirely! 🙂
