Survival of the Fittest
Saturday, May 25th, 2019 - 18km / 35km
Date: Saturday, May 25th, 2019
Distance: 18km | 35km | Kids Race (~1km)
A fantastic loop from the incredibly scenic Quest University lands in Squamish, BC. A sustained climb off the start will bring you to a waterfall within the first few kilometers. As you continue to ascend the views become ever more impressive as you gaze across the valley at the dominant Tantalus Mountain Range. Once you top out on The Climb Trail you’ll have predominantly sweet singletrack all the way home.
Local classics such as STP, Somewhere Over There, Hoods In The Woods, and Blaine’s Connector are all hemmed in between our two bridge crossings over Darwin’s and Carpenter’s Son. Revel in the theory of evolution as you cross Darwin’s early on, and test your faith above the rapids on Carpenter’s Son near the end.

Although all our courses are excellently marked, you can never predict what can happen during a race. We recommend learning about the 10 essentials for backcountry safety and bringing them in your running pack. Learn more about the 10 essentials in this article by North Shore Rescue.
PNW Trailrunners (Gareth & Jeanelle) are hosting an independent pre-run of the course based out of Quest University. Visit the PNW Trailrunners site for more information and registration. Suggested $5 donation to Squamish SAR.
