A fantastic loop from the incredibly scenic Quest University lands in Squamish, BC. A sustained climb off the start will bring you to a waterfall within the first few kilometers. As you continue to ascend the views become ever more impressive as you gaze across the valley at the dominant Tantalus Mountain Range. Once you top out on The Climb Trail you'll have predominantly sweet singletrack all the way home.
Local classics such as STP, Somewhere Over There, Hoods In The Woods, and Blaine's Connector are all hemmed in between our two bridge crossings over Darwin's and Carpenter's Son. Revel in the theory of evolution as you cross Darwin's early on, and test your faith above the rapids on Carpenter's Son near the end.
This year only (2021), we're hosting the 18km event on Saturday, and the 35km event on Sunday, plus a Kids Race each day!
The Kids Race is 1km in length, and most runners are aged between 3 - 10, though we welcome all kids to participate. It's not timed, is non-competitive and purely for the fun of all involved, but with special kids' bibs and random draw prizes. Registration is available online, or on race morning.

ID MUST BE SHOWN TO PICKUP YOUR RACER PACKAGE. BIBS CANNOT BE PICKED UP BY ANYONE BUT THE REGISTERED RUNNER. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Parking: All public parking areas at Quest, including the tennis court lot, the recplex lot, the gravel lot at the roundabout, and Village and Mamquam roads. Be sure to notice any signage and/or restrictions! As always, we encourage carpooling and other alternate means of transport to reduce congestion.
18 km - 1 Aid Station at 9km
35 km - 3 Aid Stations at 5, 17 and 28km (2 unique Aid Stations, one that is visited twice at 5km and 17km, and the other at 28km)
NOTE: Aid Stations are not accessible by anyone other than race crew and runners, as they are on the side of FSR roads and our permits may be affected by people congregating.
Our aid stations have all the good stuff: Hammer gel, Heed electrolyte, Coke, water, chips, fruit, cookies, and other surprises, all courtesy Hammer and Nesters Market in Squamish.
Bag Check: There will be a tent at the start/finish line to leave a bag, but it is not monitored so please label your bag and do not leave any valuables.
Cupless: In our effort to reduce waste, all our races are now cup-free, meaning you'll need to pack along your own cup for fluids at aid stations and at the finish line. Here are two suggestions: a collapsible cup (available in our merch store), or a homemade version cutting the top off an empty juicebox.
Poles (hiking / trekking / running poles) are NOT ALLOWED in any distances at SOTF.
11:15am / 2.25hrs into your run. AS1 (Garibaldi Park Rd crossing). KM 9.
1:30pm / 4.5hrs into your run. Finish Line.
12:15pm / 3.25hrs into your run. AS2 (Garibaldi Park Rd crossing, second time). KM 17.
3:15pm / 6.25hrs into your run. AS3 (Ring Creek FSR crossing). KM 28
4:30pm / 7.5hrs into your run. Finish Line.
