On Saturday April 25th, Gary Robbins (Co-Race Director of Coast Mountain Trail Running) ran 100 miles on a treadmill from his home of Chilliwack, British Columbia in support of BC Search and Rescue organizations.
Thank you for raising over $15,000 for Search & Rescue!
The British Columbia Search and Rescue Association represents 79 Search & Rescue groups across BC. The 2500 unpaid professional volunteers, located in more than 80 BC communities are available day or night. Together these men and women donate over 100,000 hours of their time on callouts annually. Their dedication, skill and professionalism has meant that an astounding 95% of subjects are found or rescued within the first 24 hours of a volunteer SAR group being activated. Search and Rescue organizations in BC are only partly funded by the government, and are reliant on the generousity of folks like yourself in order to continue training their volunteers and responding to calls.
